The show has haters and style biters locally in Bakersfield. That much is obvious. And in one case, there is a copy cat who also has nothing but criticism of CHADMAN’s recent social media posts. So the guys dive into why people feel obliged to copy others. You see this in music and other entertainment platforms as well. While they are at it, the guys also discuss the ‘audacity’ that they have in speaking out against and questioning certain things. Why do some people and groups get so upset when you speak out or question them? Whether it is religion, government, high profile groups, or anything close to people’s emotions, when a person or –AHEM– a podcast, speaks out against these things, you would think that the sky is falling. And making the sky fall seems to be what CHADMAN and RANDY are becoming good at doing.
May is Lupus Awareness month and since May is only a week away, this episode is dedicate to Lupus Awareness. Often a misunderstood illness, or the ‘invisible illness’, Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body. An inflammatory disease caused when the immune system attacks its own tissues. This issue hits close to home as Randy’s wife suffers from the disease. The guys welcome Jesus Ponce Jr. to discuss how lupus has affected his life. He went from playing fullback for Bakersfield College to having a hard time walking and being in the sun for long periods of time. They guys also cover the upcoming 1st Annual Bakersfield Walk For A Lupus Cure. Overall very informative.
We as a show owe a huge debt to this man. Through his show and chat room the friendship which we have was formed that planted the seed for our show. He is a mentor to both of us in the way to put on a show that moves and is entertaining to be able to entertain people even if they disagree with you. My wife and I attended their wedding and we plan on being invited to the party that is thrown when Laura beats this. So if you have money to donate please do so if you have a service that may be of help drop us a line and we will see how we can best use it if you can’t do either please share it so someone else might be able to help.. Thank you Randy
The guys welcome Liz and Holly from Golden State Cooperative to the studio. They clear the air in regards to medicinal marijuana and the stigma it holds.
Trayvon Martin’s father was in Bakersfield recently speaking to students at Cal State Bakersfield. The local newspaper made him appear on the front page as if he was some father of the year who had a dire message for humanity. This was while CHADMAN was in class at another college in town watching a fellow veteran and student exaggerate their military service. This got him thinking about how people will believe anything, so long as it is told and wrote to them in the right way. The guys discuss all of this, along with racism and parenthood. Since after all, Trayvon Martin’s father was an ‘apparent’ example of both. RANDY brings that local newspaper to the studio and the guys have the greatest of times proving that the newspaper industry is dying. They also go on to show how all of the mainstream media takes stories out of context in order to promote their own desires and views. It’s safe to say that this is the first jab the guys take at the media. Podcasts are the future. Listen to them prove it.
Due to technical difficulties, the previous links to this episode are no longer active….so in case you missed it, enjoy!
The guys talk about the jackass who took a selfie with a the fake hijacker on an airplane. Then they go into when to jokes and pranks go too far. The second part of the show they welcome a local band called I.N.E.R.T.I.A. or just Inertia. Either way, the band took 2nd at a battle of the bands gig the same night CHADMAN and RANDY were taking part in the Bakersfield Rocks The Fox concert. ChadmanAndRandyShow.com
